An image comes to mind of a juggler juggling many things at the same time – this is essentially what is going on at the Malt House Theater now because there are so many wonderful things in production or rehearsal at the same time.  The first thing in the mix is the very amusing and entertaining “I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change”, currently in production.  This is a musical comedy about love presented in the form of a series of vignettes connected by the central theme of love and relationships.  The scenes progress like the arc of relationships throughout the course of one’s life – first date, marriage, child rearing, etc.  This show is suggested for a mature audience, but I do highly recommend it if you like to laugh!  It is hilarious.  Remaining production dates for “I Love You…” are October 14 – 16 and 21 – 23 (Friday – Saturday at 7:30 PM with Sunday matinees at 2 PM).  Tickets are available at The Grater Tater at 140 W. Chestnut St. in Burlington at the cost of $12.  We will also have tickets available on line until 24 hours prior to each show for a slightly higher price at www.thehaylofters.com.  Note that we will be selling any remaining tickets for each show ONLY at the concession stand/box office at the theater 1 hour prior to the opening of each show.  

 

 The next thing in this great act of juggling is “ Dog Park , The Musical”, directed by Jennie King and Assistant Director, Bill Corey.  The show is currently in rehearsal, but I saw auditions and it looks to be another winner.  This show will be a bonus show for us but promises to be outrageously funny.  It is a musical comedy featuring four dogs looking for their soul mates at the local dog park and doing barbershop harmonies while singing such songs as “Deep Dog Doo Wop” and “Dogs in Heat”.  It promises to be a memorable experience, so don’t bark up the wrong tree and remember to put these production dates on your calendar (sorry, I couldn’t help myself!).  Production dates for “ Dog Park , The Musical” will be November 3 – 6, 10 – 13 and tickets will be available at The Grater Tater at 140 W. Chestnut St. , Burlington at the cost of $12 or on line for a slightly higher price at www.thehaylofters.com.  Note:  We will be cleaning the theater for the opening of “ Dog Park , The Musical”.  The scheduled clean up will be Saturday, October 29 at 9 AM.  Come help your Haylofters friends to make our theater more appealing for this wonderful Bonus show.

 

 Last, but certainly not least, in our juggling act, comes the bi-annual “Winter Cabaret”.  Don’t you just love Christmas concerts, plays and music?  Well, this year, you can hear music and also get a play!  Wow, such a deal!  Directors Christy Heinzelmann and T.C. DeWitt have a wonderful show planned for everyone with their upcoming “Winter Cabaret”.  I can tell you that it promises to be a very fun event that’s sure to set your feet tapping, your mouth humming and your mind transported into the Christmas spirit.  Production dates for the Winter Cabaret will be November 26 - 27, December 2 – 4 (Friday & Saturday at 7 PM and Sundays at 2 PM).
