ABOUT THE SHOW: Here's a brief synopsis of the show "Noel Coward wrote Blithe Spirit in 1941 just after his house had been the recipient of a direct hit from a Luftwaffe bomb. His rather macabre response was to write a comedy based on a medium who brings back the wrong people from the dead. The play deals with the subject of death head on, for as one ghost tells us, "I always believed in cutting my losses, that's why I died." The black humor of Blithe Spirit amused wartime Britain, and was immediately popular. The plot begins with Charles Condomine, a middle aged novelist, inviting Madame Arcati, an eccentric medium, to his house so he can research his mystery novel while she performs a seance. Inadvertently Charles's first wife Elvira is called back from the dead. Charles is accused of being an astral bigamist, and second wife Ruth threatens to call the Archbishop of Canterbury as a last resort to get rid of Elvira. The plot has more twists than a roller coaster and a hilarious three-way repartee as only Charles can see the sparkling specter of Elvira."

****** All Sun Mat. are at 2:00****** Funkin' Wassels
An Improv Comedy Troupe
The Funkin' Wassels are an improv comedy troupe formed at the Hayloft in 2011. Inspired by the hit TV show "Whose Line Is It Anyway?", the Wassels specialize in short-form improvisational games with an uproarious and occasionally irreverent sense of humor. The show's host guides the audience through each game (and occasionally gets some of the audience up on stage too) while eight talented, quick-witted performers make up everything you see right there on the spot. They're proud to say they genuinely live up to their motto: "No scripts, no sets, no problem!"
Show dates: March 30-31, June 1-2, and August 24-25. Friday & Saturday at 7:30 p.m.
Tickets $10.00 Auditions are annual! The Funkin' Wassels will maintain the existing cast from the September auditions for the 2012 season, and will then have yearly auditions for future seasons. We thank all of your for your support and laughter, and encourage all of you to follow us on Facebook for updates as to future shows, auditions, and promotions!
