Is spring really here or are the weather gods just teasing us?  I don’t like teasing and I hope that we’re finally past winter, but life is sometimes uncertain as the first show in our season, “Baby”, let’s us know.   This is the story of three variously aged couples who are all either expecting a child or trying to have a baby and their very different responses to these events.  How could the arrival/non arrival of a small thing like a baby throw people into such turmoil?  As we all know, life has a way of throwing us curves at times, and each of these couples experience the emotional stresses and triumphs, the desperate lows and the comic highs that accompany the anticipation of a baby.  This show is STRONGLY suggested for mature audiences only.  Production dates for “Baby” will be April 29 – 30, May 1, 7 – 9, 14 – 16.  Ticket prices are $12 and will be available about 2 weeks prior to opening at the Daily Brew Coffee House, 557 Milwaukee Avenue , Burlington , on line at www.thehaylofters.com or through purchase of a season ticket package (more on this later).  As usual, we will be holding a small silent auction through-out the run of the play, so if you have an item that you would like to donate to the cause, please call Lenore at 262-763-8602.

Our 2010 brochures are now out.  If you need one, they are available at the Daily Brew Coffee House.  The brochures not only tell everyone about this season’s plays, but also have forms for purchasing season tickets or becoming a patron (told you I’d tell you more later!).  Everyone is always looking for great deals and I have to say that we can offer you one on our season tickets.  If you plan to go to all the shows and purchase a season ticket before April 15 at $30, you will save $6 in total cost!  These days, that’s something to talk about!  Remember that the season ticket prices go up to $35 after April 15 (that price is still cheaper than purchasing individual tickets, if you plan to see all three shows), so lock in that much cheaper price!  Anyone with questions about season tickets/patronage should call Mary Skwierawski at 763-3296.  Want to show even more support?  Memberships are also available.  Single memberships are available for $15 and family memberships for $25.  Not only are you helping to support our program by becoming a member, but you will receive $2 (single membership) or $4 (family membership) off tickets (one time) for each of our regular season shows, if tickets are purchased at the lobby ticket/concession booth.

Bored?  I was told recently by Mary Hubbard Nugent, one of our past directors at the Hayloft, that she will be directing “You Can’t Take it with You” for the Lakeland Players at the Walworth Co. Performing Arts Center (262-723-3013).  Several of our Hayloft members/actors are a part of the cast (Buzz Romstad, Sondra Gieselle and Jeff Smith).  The last week of performance will be March 19, 20 and 21, tickets are $12 and available at the previously mentioned phone number.  A great children’s show will also be in performance at Chapel on the Hill’s Christian Art Center ( Lake Geneva ) on these same dates.  The show is being directed by past Hayloft performer, Sandy Stearns, and is titled “We Are United”.  Tickets cost $8 and more information/tickets are available by calling 262-245-9122.  I would be remiss not to mention the wonderful upcoming benefit concert held by our friends at the Veteran’s Terrace on Wednesday, March 24, at 7 PM.  The concert features the Western group “Riders in the Sky” who have been seen on PBS, won multiple Grammys and are members of the Grand Ole Opry!  Tickets are priced at $40 and are available at the First Banking Center , the Daily Brew Coffee House, Sentry and Gooseberries.  Tickets are also available on line at www.veteransterrace.com and at the door the night of the concert (if available) with cash only.  Doors will open at 5:30 PM, with a cash bar available.  Seating will be open, so come early to get a good seat!  There will be an autograph signing/mercantile store following the show.

Finally, our April board meeting will be held at 317 Highridge Rd. in Burlington at 7 PM on Thursday, April 15.  Remember, these are open meetings.
