St. Patrick’s Day; wow, it’s finally spring!  With spring comes the advent of our 80th season.  I’m still in awe over that one!  I’m also in awe over the upcoming “Lend Me A Tenor”, the spring show.  Here’s a short sample:  Cleveland ’s premiere opera producer is on the verge of a nervous breakdown because all the tickets are sold to “Otello”, a gala fundraiser for the company, but, it’s three minutes to curtain, and the leading man - the greatest tenor in the world - is missing!  Hilarity ensues when the producer decides to have his assistant impersonate the missing star.  Of course the star shows up and mistaken identities and crazy plot twists occur.  I can hardly wait to see what they are!  I’ve been told that the auditions for this show went wonderfully, so a great cast = a great show!

Production dates will be April 28 - 30, May 6 – 8 and 13 – 15.   Ticket prices are $10 and tickets will be available about 2 weeks prior to opening at the Daily Brew Coffee House, 557 Milwaukee Avenue , Burlington , on line at www.thehaylofters.com or through purchase of a season ticket package (more on this later).  As usual, we will be holding a small silent auction through-out the run of the play, so if you have an item that you would like to donate to the cause, please call Lenore at 262-763-8602.

Our 2011 brochures have been sent out.  If you need one and are not on our mailing list, they are available at the Daily Brew Coffee House.  The brochures not only tell everyone about this season’s plays, but also have forms for purchasing season tickets or becoming a patron.  Everyone is always looking for great deals and I have to say that we can offer you one on our season tickets.  If you plan to go to all the shows and purchase a season ticket at $30, you will save in total cost and help us as well.  Anyone with questions about season tickets/patronage should call Mary Skwierawski at 763-3296.

Want to show even more support?  Memberships are also available.  Single memberships are available for $15 and family memberships for $25.  Not only are you helping to support our program by becoming a member, but you will receive $2 (single membership) or $4 (family membership) off tickets (one time) for each of our regular season shows, if tickets are purchased at the lobby ticket/concession booth.

Looking for something fun to do?  The Haylofters’ choir will be performing “The Creation, a Rock Cantata”, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Lake Geneva on April 3 at their 8:15 am, 9:45 am and 11:07 am services.  The choir will also be performing at Plymouth Congregational Church on April 10 at their 10 am service.  “The Creation” takes us on a journey through the darkness and into the light of the creation of all things in seven miraculous days.  It should be a memorable concert.

I would also be remiss not to mention the wonderful upcoming benefit concert held by our friends at the Veteran’s Terrace on Wednesday, March 23, at 7 PMThe concert features the Western group Riders in the Sky” who have been seen on PBS, won multiple Grammys and are members of the Grand Ole Opry!  Tickets are priced at $40 and are available at the First Banking Center , Sentry and Gooseberries.  Tickets are also available on line at
www.veteransterrace.com

and at the door the night of the concert (if available) with cash only.  Doors will open at 5:30 PM, with a cash bar available.  Seating will be open, so come early to get a good seat!  There will be an autograph signing/mercantile store following the show.

Finally, our April board meeting will be held at 101 S. Kane St. in Burlington at 7 PM on Thursday, April 14.  Remember, these are open meetings.
